Echo Livescribe Smart Pens

http://www.livescribe.com/en-us/education/learning.html#educators

This seems like an interesting bit of new technology! Now that we are seeing newer technology like SMARTboards more popularly in the classroom, i wonder if we will be seeing these pens in the future!

Fun Sites for Halloween!

I just googled fun halloween site and this was one of the first things to pop up! I thought it was so cute! You can click on almost everything and it will do something fun or scarrrryyy!!! BOO!!! I thought it could be really fun to do up on the smart board for the students (that is of course as long as your school isnt against halloween activities, because some are now a days...:( )

you know what i LOVE?

http://www.funbrain.com/index.html

this site is so much fun! there are tons of educational games on here, but my favorite are their mad libs! they are HILARIOUS! i went to this site with a 2nd grade student i was working with and she cracked up. it was great to get to see her laugh, because she was so shy. i think these would be a great way to introduce parts of speech to your classroom, and the kids just want to do them over and over again!

Two reading websites

kids.nypl.org click on link "Tumblebooks"

This has a link for read-alouds where the child can go to and follow along to a voice in their own book. it is courtesy of the New York Public Library. Very cool!

wegivebooks.org

this is a site you can sign up for and partner with an organization. Then you are able to view a picture book, preferrably read it to your class, and the website will then donate one book to a needy child on behalf of the organization that you partnered with.

teaching style survey

this survey does not apply to any of us in this class because none of us have students yet...so i dont understand why we had to take it.

http://www.longleaf.net/teachingstyle.html

the way it works would be good for a teacher to help themselves evaluate their teaching and to make necessary adjustments to their style
